Computing

Through Computing lessons, the computing curriculum aims to teach children the skills to:

  • Use information and communication technology to enhance their learning across all subjects
  • To understand and use computing programming techniques appropriately and effectively.

Our aim is for our children to be able to retrieve information that has been stored; use text, images and sound and know how to select to and from texts by the time they leave us at the end of Year 6. In their computing lessons, they will learn to explore and use their imaginations, share ideas, present work effectively and gather information from a range of reliable sources.

The schemes of work that we follow enable our children to recognise technology in the world around them as well as encouraging them to use technology safely and responsibly.

Please look at the SMART rule's poster. These are rules that the children are taught to follow when using technology both in school and at home.

At Cromwell Academy we continually aspire to be a leading school in the use and development and technology knowing that this is the future for our children.
