Welcome to Reception!
My name is Mrs Smith, and I am the Reception class teacher. Our wonderful teaching assistants are Miss Lowe, Miss Burdis and Mrs Brickell.
The Reception year is the last year of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). During this year we continue to lay the foundations to ensure children are prepared to move on to Key Stage 1. We support children to reach their full potential throughout the year through our curriculum delivery of self-activity, direct teaching and playful exploration. Your child's development is also supported through our learning environment which supports child-initiated activities both inside and outside.
You can keep up to date with your child’s learning by keeping connected with their online learning journal, Tapestry. Observations of activities in school and communication of how to support your child's learning at home are added weekly to Tapestry.
Thank you for your support,
Mrs Smith and the Reception Class team
